This minor student and his/her parent(s) or legal guardian(s) have reviewed Grace’s On Campus Catalog on the Grace website and understand that these rules and regulations are to be followed at all times while conducting business with the University. Students taking courses on campus should also review the Student Handbook. Grace provides an adult, independent, collegiate learning environment primarily tailored to meet the needs of adult students and is committed to providing a safe environment for all students. However, each individual must be responsible for his/her own safety.
The student and PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN understand and acknowledge that
- Grace instructors teach from a biblical worldview, but course textbooks/resources and other students may not share that worldview. Minor students will likely be exposed to differing worldviews from course resources and fellow students.
- Grace instructors bear no responsibility for underage students outside of the classroom. If attending courses at any Grace campus or site, parents are responsible for the students before and after class. Campuses are open and parents are responsible for the supervision of minors outside of the classroom.
- Students under the age of 13 are prohibited by the Child's Online Protection Policy Rule (COPPA) from sharing personal information online without parental consent.
- Students are responsible for tuition, books, and other associated fees. **Exception: when another party is responsible, such as a school district or the State of Michigan.**
- Courses will be more academically challenging than traditional high school courses. Online courses are provided in an accelerated 5-week course format equivalent to a standard 14-week On-Campus course.
- The minor student may be exposed to discussions, readings and visual material of a mature nature and will be expected to conform to the same performance standards as any other college student as set forth in the course outlines and syllabi.
- All policies regarding grading, class attendance, registration deadlines, payments on account and college policies and procedures apply regardless of the student’s age.
- The student is able to interact socially with adult college students, faculty and staff and that the college is not responsible for these interactions.
- The student is responsible to communicate with the instructor if there are any questions or concerns.
- Students are responsible for seeking assistance for any special needs they have, such as disability services or tutoring.
If the student is under 13 years of age, the PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN has reviewed the University Privacy Policy and hereby grants permission for the student to share personal information required of all students via Grace Christian University’s website, student portal, learning management system, and any other online platform used by Grace during the student’s enrollment.
The parties involved have been informed that the terms and conditions in the aforementioned agreement will apply for every semester that the student is enrolled, as long as the student remains under the age of 18.
